DGJI Jaipur uncovered an organised GST evasion ring that used fake invoices and input‑tax‑credit claims, leading to a seizure of ₹4.58 crore in cash in Delhi.

The Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGJI) team from the Jaipur zone announced the exposure of a well‑structured syndicate that allegedly evaded GST by issuing spurious invoices and manipulating input tax credit claims. Investigators traced the fraudulent network to multiple entities operating across Rajasthan and linked the proceeds to cash holdings in Delhi.

During a coordinated operation in the national capital, officials seized cash amounting to approximately ₹4.58 crore. The money was recovered from a location identified as part of the syndicate’s cash‑laundering channel.

Authorities said the seizure is part of a broader crackdown on GST fraud, and further forensic and legal steps are underway to dismantle the ring and recover additional losses.

No arrests have been publicly confirmed, but the DGJI team indicated that interrogations of key suspects are in progress and that the case will be forwarded to the appropriate prosecutorial agencies.

The incident underscores the government's intensified focus on curbing tax evasion schemes that exploit the GST framework.
