From October 1, outpatient services in Rajasthan’s government PHCs, CHCs and district hospitals will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., as announced by the state health department.
The Rajasthan health department has issued a directive that, beginning on 1 October, all government‑run primary health centres (PHCs), community health centres (CHCs) and district hospitals will operate their outpatient departments from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The change was communicated through official SMS alerts to the public and posted on the department’s website.
Under the new schedule, patients can expect a six‑hour window for routine consultations, diagnostics and follow‑up visits. Earlier timings varied across facilities, with some centres opening as early as 8 a.m. and closing after 4 p.m. The uniform timing aims to simplify appointment planning and reduce confusion among residents.
Health officials said the adjustment will help streamline patient flow, allow better allocation of medical staff, and improve overall service quality in the state’s public health network. They have urged citizens to plan their visits accordingly and to use the online portal for appointment bookings where available.
