Rajasthan Govt Approves Probe into IAS Shikhar Agrawal’s Alleged Misuse of Office

The Rajasthan administration has authorized a detailed inquiry into IAS officer Shikhar Agrawal over accusations of favouring Goel Fashions, misusing his position and purchasing a villa at Ananta Resort in relatives’ names.
The state government of Rajasthan has given the go‑ahead for a comprehensive investigation into IAS officer Shikhar Agrawal. The probe, to be conducted by the Anti‑Corruption Bureau (ACB), stems from allegations that he abused his official position for personal gain.
According to the complaint, Agrawal is accused of providing undue advantage to the private firm Goel Fashions, facilitating contracts or approvals that benefited the company. In addition, investigators are examining a transaction in which a villa at the upscale Ananta Resort was purchased in the names of his relatives, raising questions about the source of funds and compliance with service rules.
The ACB will scrutinise financial records, property documents and any correspondence related to the alleged favours. Officials said the agency will submit its findings to the state cabinet, which may decide on further disciplinary or legal action based on the evidence gathered.
Rajasthan’s chief minister’s office declined to comment on the specifics of the case but affirmed that the government is committed to upholding transparency and accountability among its civil servants.
