Amid severe flooding in Nepal, the Rajasthan government has released a dedicated helpline to assist relatives of Rajasthan residents caught in the disaster.

The Rajasthan state administration announced a new toll‑free helpline to address the concerns of families whose relatives are stranded in Nepal due to the ongoing floods. The number, publicised through official channels, will provide real‑time updates, assistance with travel arrangements, and liaison with Indian diplomatic missions in Kathmandu.

Officials said the service aims to ease the anxiety of affected families by offering a single point of contact for information on rescue operations, medical aid, and repatriation procedures. The helpline will be staffed by officials from the state disaster management cell and the foreign affairs department.

The move comes as Nepal grapples with unprecedented rainfall that has triggered landslides and river overflows, displacing thousands and disrupting cross‑border movement. Rajasthan, which has a sizable diaspora traveling to Nepal for work and pilgrimage, is taking proactive steps to ensure their safety and provide timely support.

Authorities have urged citizens to use the helpline responsibly and avoid circulating unverified rumors. The number will remain active until the situation stabilises and all stranded individuals are safely returned to India.
