Ahead of the festive season, Rajasthan’s food safety department destroyed 300 kg of suspect cheese in Jaipur and confiscated 690 kg of vegetable fat in Falodi, shutting down an illegal processing unit.
The state’s Food Safety Department stepped up inspections under its “Shuddh Aahar – Milawat Par War” drive, a pre‑festive campaign aimed at curbing adulteration in staple foods.
In Jaipur, officials seized a batch of cheese that failed purity tests and ordered the destruction of 300 kg of the product, deeming it unsafe for consumption. Simultaneously, in the Falodi area of Rajasthan, inspectors confiscated 690 kg of vegetable fat that was being processed without proper licensing, leading to the seizure of the illegal factory premises.
Department officials said the actions send a strong message to vendors about strict compliance, and they will continue random checks throughout the holiday period to protect consumers from unsafe food products.
