Rajasthan’s Anti‑Corruption Bureau detained assistant engineer Govind Prasad for taking a ₹30,000 bribe and, after searching his home, recovered over ₹4.3 million in cash, about 20 kg of silver and related property documents.

The Anti‑Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan arrested assistant engineer Govind Prasad of the Bhusawar Panchayat Samiti after a sting operation revealed he had accepted a bribe of ₹30,000. The arrest was carried out early Monday following a complaint lodged by a local official.
A subsequent raid on Prasad's residence uncovered a substantial cache of undeclared assets. Investigators seized cash amounting to ₹4,338,000, roughly 20 kilograms of silver, and a series of documents linking the metal and cash to various properties.
Authorities said the findings point to a larger pattern of corruption within the local administration. The ACB has opened a formal case and will continue to probe the source of the wealth and any accomplices involved.
The seized assets will be held as evidence, and Prasad faces charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The bureau has urged other officials to cooperate with ongoing anti‑corruption efforts.
The incident underscores the state government's renewed focus on curbing graft at the grassroots level, especially in rural governance bodies.
