The Anti‑Corruption Bureau of Rajasthan has opened an investigation into an IAS‑IPS couple accused of holding 40 luxury villas with a total investment of Rs 6.16 crore and generating Rs 1.80 crore in annual rent.

The Rajasthan Anti‑Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, alleging that the couple owns a portfolio of 40 luxury villas. According to the bureau's preliminary findings, the properties represent an investment of approximately Rs 6.16 crore and generate about Rs 1.80 crore in rental income each year.

Investigators say the scale of the assets is disproportionate to the officials' declared earnings, prompting a detailed inquiry into the source of funds used for the acquisition. The ACB has summoned the couple for questioning and is examining property records, bank statements, and rental agreements to establish any irregularities.

The case underscores the growing scrutiny of senior bureaucrats in Rajasthan, where the state government has pledged to strengthen anti‑corruption mechanisms. If proven, the officials could face disciplinary action, fines, or criminal prosecution under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The ACB has not disclosed the names of the officers involved, citing procedural norms, but confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that further details will be released as the probe progresses.
