The city of Raipur has readied a grand stage to host an upcoming hockey tournament, signalling a boost to local sports infrastructure.
Raipur’s municipal authorities have completed preparations for a large‑scale venue that will host an upcoming hockey tournament. The site, equipped with a newly laid synthetic turf and spectator stands, is positioned to meet national standards for the sport.
Officials highlighted that the tournament aims to draw teams from across the region, offering local players exposure to higher‑level competition. The event is expected to generate enthusiasm among fans and provide a platform for talent scouting.
The development is part of a broader effort to promote sports in Chhattisgarh, with the state government recently emphasizing the need for modern facilities. By hosting the tournament, Raipur hopes to position itself as a hub for field hockey in central India.
