The Rajasthan Meteorological Department has warned of possible showers in several districts within the next 24‑48 hours, following an unusually hot October.
The state of Rajasthan has been experiencing unusually high temperatures for October, with daytime highs lingering above 40°C in many areas. This prolonged heat wave has prompted the state’s meteorological authorities to closely monitor atmospheric changes.
In a bulletin released today, the Rajasthan Meteorological Department announced a rain warning for several districts, stating that showers could develop within the next 24 to 48 hours. The warning covers regions that have reported the most intense heat, though exact district names were not specified in the release.
Officials cautioned that even moderate rainfall could provide temporary relief but also warned of possible localized flooding, especially in low‑lying urban zones and agricultural fields that have become hard‑baked under the heat.
Residents in the affected areas have been advised to stay updated through local news channels and official alerts, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy downpours, and take precautionary measures to protect property and livestock.
