Showers across parts of Delhi-NCR have lowered temperatures and made the weather more pleasant, officials said.
A series of moderate showers swept across several districts of the National Capital Region on Tuesday, affecting Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida and surrounding areas.
The rain, which lasted for about an hour in most locations, helped bring down the temperature by 3‑4°C, with the mercury hovering around 30°C, a noticeable drop from the 35‑36°C highs recorded earlier in the week.
Meteorologists at the India Meteorological Department said the precipitation is part of a monsoon trough moving northward and is expected to ease the lingering heat wave. They cautioned that isolated showers may continue over the next 24‑48 hours.
Local authorities reported no major disruptions, though traffic slowed in some corridors. Residents welcomed the cooler air after several days of scorching heat.
