Rain Forces Tarp‑Covered Cremation in Damoon Village, Rajasthan

Damoon village in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan was hit by continuous rain, making the local cremation site difficult to use. The cremation area, which normally has a tin shelter, was found to be without one, leaving the pyre exposed to the elements. In response, villagers set up a large tarp over the pyre to shield it from the rain while the body was burned. The makeshift arrangement has raised questions about the adequacy of funeral facilities in the district and the need for better infrastructure to handle weather disruptions.
