Railway Announces 200 Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains Under PPP Model to Start in Two Years

Railway Chairman Satish Kumar announced that 200 Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be developed under a public‑private partnership model and are expected to enter service in about two years. He added that Madhya Pradesh may also receive such trains in the future.
The announcement was made during a function in Indore, where Railway Chairman Satish Kumar spoke about the upcoming fleet. He stated that the trains are being prepared under a PPP model, involving collaboration between the government and private partners. According to the chairman, the sleeper versions of the Vande Bharat Express are slated to become operational in approximately two years. He also expressed optimism that Madhya Pradesh would be among the states to benefit from this new service once the trains are rolled out.
