Raid in Deveri Seals 665 Bags of Urea, Illegal Fertilizer Stock Discovered

A joint team of agriculture, revenue and police officers raided the rented houses of fertilizer vendor Harshit Jain in Deveri, Sagar, uncovering 665 bags of urea and other illegal fertilizer stock, which were subsequently sealed.
The raid took place on Thursday in the town of Deveri, Sagar district, when a combined team from the agriculture department, revenue office and local police entered the rented premises of fertilizer dealer Harshit Jain.
During the operation, officers discovered 665 bags of urea along with other fertilizers that had been stored illegally.
The authorities sealed the property and seized the stock, citing violations of the Food and Fertilizer Act.
The incident follows complaints from local farmers who alleged that the vendor was supplying sub‑standard and unregistered fertilizer.
Police have announced that further investigations will be carried out to determine the extent of the illegal trade.
