Following a large gathering of Congress supporters near the Parliament Street police station, authorities sealed the gate and deployed Rapid Action Force personnel to maintain order.
Delhi police reported that a sizable group of Congress workers assembled near the Parliament Street police station as part of a Rahul Gandhi‑led dharna. The crowd caused the main gate of the police station to be shut to prevent further influx of protesters.
In response, the police called in the Rapid Action Force (RAF), a central paramilitary unit, to secure the premises and manage the situation. RAF personnel were positioned at the gate and around the station to deter any potential unrest and ensure public safety.
The deployment comes amid heightened security measures in the capital ahead of scheduled parliamentary sessions. Officials confirmed that no violence was reported at the time of the deployment, and the situation remained under control.
Police continue to monitor the area closely, urging demonstrators to adhere to lawful conduct while exercising their right to peaceful protest.
