Recent observations show that match days in the state are marked by colourful bhangra dances, traditional drums and stadiums bathed in elaborate lighting, turning each game into a festive spectacle.

Local clubs and schools integrate hockey drills with folk music, reinforcing the sport’s cultural relevance. Fans gather in large numbers, waving state flags and chanting in Punjabi, while organised light shows highlight key moments on the field.

Officials say the blend of sport and heritage not only boosts attendance but also encourages youth participation, ensuring the region’s continued contribution to India's hockey success.

The phenomenon has attracted media attention nationwide, positioning Punjab as a unique model where athletic excellence and cultural expression coexist seamlessly.
