The Punjab government has disbursed ₹1,291 crore to 37.43 lakh women beneficiaries under the Mawan‑Dheeyan Satkar Yojana.
The state government of Punjab has released a total of ₹1,291 crore to women under the Mawan‑Dheeyan Satkar Yojana, a scheme aimed at recognising and supporting mothers and daughters. A total of 37.43 lakh women have been identified as beneficiaries and have received the allotted funds.
The scheme, launched earlier this year, seeks to enhance financial inclusion and economic empowerment for women across rural and urban areas of the state. Payments have been transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, ensuring transparency and reducing the scope for leakage.
Officials said the disbursement marks a significant step toward the government's commitment to gender‑focused welfare programmes. The administration plans to monitor the utilisation of the funds and assess the impact on household income and women’s participation in productive activities.
The government has indicated that further phases of the scheme will continue, with additional outreach to ensure that eligible women in remote districts receive the benefits without delay.
