Incidents of vandalism at Punjab universities have been condemned by Gargajj, who stated that such acts do not represent the character of the state.
Incidents of vandalism were reported at several university campuses across Punjab earlier this week, with students and staff reporting broken equipment and damaged infrastructure. The acts were carried out by a group of youths who reportedly set fire to library shelves and spray‑painted slogans on walls. In a statement released by the Punjab Education Department, officials said the incidents were isolated and not reflective of the broader student community. "Such vandalism is not characteristic of Punjab’s spirit and values," said Gargajj, a senior education officer, emphasizing that the state’s educational institutions remain committed to fostering a respectful learning environment. Authorities have increased security measures and are conducting investigations to identify the perpetrators, while also urging students to report any suspicious activity.
