The Punjab State Election Commission has flagged more than 20 lakh voters as ineligible and will release the draft electoral roll on 13 August.
The Punjab State Election Commission (SIR) has announced that it has identified over 20 lakh voters as ineligible for the upcoming elections.
The list includes voters who do not meet the eligibility criteria set by the Election Commission of India, such as non-citizens, convicted offenders, or those who have moved out of the state.
The draft electoral roll, incorporating these changes, will be published on 13 August, after which the public can file objections.
Once objections are addressed, the final roll will be released ahead of the scheduled elections.
