Punjab Reports 700+ Stubble Burning Incidents, 24 FIRs Filed

Punjab authorities have reported over 700 stubble burning incidents across the state in the latest agricultural season. In response, 24 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered to investigate and curb the practice. Stubble burning, a common post-harvest activity, contributes significantly to air pollution and health hazards in the region. The government is reportedly taking steps to enforce stricter penalties and promote alternative residue management techniques.
