Punjab’s Industry Minister has been remanded to the Enforcement Directorate’s custody for seven days amid a GST fraud investigation involving more than ₹100 crore.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) remanded Punjab’s Industry Minister to its custody on Tuesday for a period of seven days.

The remand follows allegations that the minister facilitated or participated in a Goods and Services Tax (GST) fraud scheme involving more than ₹100 crore, according to information received by the ED from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs.

The minister will be held at the ED’s facility in Chandigarh until the end of the remand period. The case is part of a broader probe into irregularities in the GST system.

No statement has been issued by the minister’s office or the state government, and the investigation is ongoing with further legal actions expected.
