Punjab Engineering College in Chandigarh has started a three‑day workshop focused on the Dogri language, aiming to promote regional linguistic heritage among students.

Punjab Engineering College (PEC) in Chandigarh inaugurated a three‑day workshop on Dogri, the language spoken by the Dogra community in the northern parts of India. The event, which began on Monday, is part of the college’s initiative to preserve and promote regional languages among its student body.

The workshop will cover Dogri grammar, literature, and contemporary usage, with sessions led by language experts and senior faculty members. Participants include engineering students from various departments who are interested in linguistic studies.

College officials said the program aims to raise awareness about Dogri’s cultural significance and encourage its use in academic and social contexts. The workshop will conclude on Wednesday with a concluding session and a small exhibition of Dogri literary works.
