Punjab CM’s Former OSD Joins Congress, Signaling Political Shift

Manjeet Singh Sihdu, a close associate of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, announced his switch to the Indian National Congress on Tuesday. The move comes after Sihdu served as the CM’s Office Secretary (OSD) since 2014, a role that placed him at the heart of state administration. His departure from the Aam Aadmi Party and alignment with Congress is seen as a significant development in Punjab’s political arena. Analysts note that Sihdu’s insider experience could strengthen Congress’s organizational capabilities in the state. The party welcomed him with a statement emphasizing unity and renewed commitment to public service.
