Punjab bandh imposed in Jalandhar on Friday from 7 am to 2 pm

Jalandhar, Punjab – On Friday the National Justice Front (Kaumi Insaf Morcha) called for a bandh across the state, directing a shutdown in the city from 7 am to 2 pm. The directive was issued early in the morning to press authorities on pending demands.
During the bandh, eyewitnesses reported a motorist being slapped, a group performing a kirtan on a main road, and a threat made against a local BJP office.
Police deployed additional forces to maintain order and appealed to the public to stay calm, warning that violations of the curfew could attract legal action.
