Public Outcry Over Poor Lighting at Madikeri Dasara Festival
Visitors and locals expressed strong dissatisfaction as the historic Madikeri Dasara celebrations fell short on expected lighting decorations.
Public anger has risen in Madikeri after the city’s historic Dasara festival failed to provide the expected level of lighting decorations. The shortfall in the traditional lamp arrangements prompted both residents and tourists to voice sharp criticism of the local district administration.
The Dasara celebrations in Madikeri are known for elaborate illumination that draws large crowds each year. This year, however, the lighting setup was noticeably inadequate, falling below the standards set in previous editions of the festival.
Affected visitors and local citizens gathered at the festival grounds to express their displeasure, directing their grievances toward the district authorities responsible for organizing the event. Their protests highlighted a perceived neglect of cultural expectations and tourist satisfaction.
District officials have yet to issue a detailed response, leaving the public’s concerns unresolved as the festival continues.
