A protest erupted at the Press Club of India in Delhi as AISA president Neha Bora called for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged voter‑list irregularities.

On Thursday, a press briefing organised by the Press Club of India in Delhi turned chaotic when members of the All India Students' Association (AISA) staged a protest. The demonstration was triggered by accusations of discrepancies in the electoral roll and a demand that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar step down.

AISA president Neha Bora used the platform to articulate three specific demands: immediate correction of the voter list, the resignation of the CEC, and the hoisting of the national flag as a symbol of accountability. She urged the Election Commission to act swiftly to restore public confidence.

During her speech, a segment of the audience broke into chants and slogans, expressing dissent and amplifying the pressure on the election authorities. Security personnel intervened to maintain order, but the atmosphere remained tense throughout the session.

The protest highlights growing scrutiny of the Election Commission ahead of upcoming electoral events, with civil society groups demanding greater transparency and responsiveness from the institution.
