Private medical institutions in Madhya Pradesh have announced a 10% increase in MBBS tuition and an 8% rise in BDS fees, effective from the upcoming academic session.
A group of private medical colleges across Madhya Pradesh disclosed that the tuition for the MBBS programme will rise by ten percent, while the BDS course will see an eight percent increase. The revision is slated to take effect from the next academic year, as per official notices circulated to prospective students.
The fee hike arrives at a time when many aspirants are already grappling with the high cost of professional medical education. Analysts suggest that the additional burden could deter candidates from economically weaker backgrounds, unless scholarships or loan schemes are expanded.
College administrators attribute the increase to escalating operational expenses, including faculty salaries, infrastructure maintenance, and compliance with updated regulatory standards. The revised fee structure is pending final approval from the Madhya Pradesh Medical Council, which oversees private medical institutions in the state.
