Actress Preity Zinta has said that director Rajkumar Santoshi subjected her to harsh treatment on the first day of shooting Batwara 1947, forcing her to film a very difficult scene. The revelation came during an interview with Bollywood Hungama.

Preity Zinta told Bollywood Hungama that during the first day of shooting the period film Batwara 1947, director Rajkumar Santoshi subjected her to intense pressure. She described the experience as "torture," saying the director forced her to perform a scene that was the most challenging of the film.

Zinta added that the scene required her to convey a high level of emotional intensity, and the director’s demands left her feeling exhausted. She further revealed that the cast, including Sunny Deol, were visibly shaken during the shoot.

The actress’s comments have sparked discussion among film industry insiders about the working conditions on set. Santoshi, known for his demanding style, has not yet responded to the allegations.

Zinta’s statement comes at a time when several veteran actors are speaking out about on‑set treatment. The film, which is set against the backdrop of the 1947 partition, is expected to release later this year.
