Local authorities have switched on the lighting along Bicholim's pedestrian walkway, improving safety for residents.
The municipal administration in Bicholim, Goa, has restored electricity to the lighting system installed along the town's main pedestrian walkway. The re‑energised lights are expected to enhance visibility for commuters during evening hours and deter unlawful activities in the area.
Officials confirmed that the outage, which lasted several days, was resolved after repair work on the power supply line was completed. The maintenance crew inspected the fixtures and ensured that all lamps are functioning correctly.
Residents expressed relief at the renewed illumination, noting that the walkway is a frequently used route for schoolchildren and senior citizens. The authorities have urged the public to report any further issues promptly.
The restoration aligns with the local government's ongoing efforts to upgrade civic infrastructure and maintain public safety standards across Goa.
