A sudden electricity failure halted the postgraduate entrance test at Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, prompting CJ spokesperson Ranka to call for action against centres with technical lapses.

During the recent postgraduate entrance examination conducted by the National Institute of Technology in Jaipur, an unexpected power cut forced the test to be paused, affecting thousands of candidates across multiple centres. The outage, which lasted several minutes, disrupted the timing of the exam and raised concerns about the integrity of the assessment process.

CJP spokesperson Ranka publicly criticised the recurring technical failures, stating that repeated power glitches undermine the fairness of competitive exams. He urged the authorities responsible for exam administration to identify the centres with inadequate infrastructure and to take swift corrective action.

The incident adds to a growing list of complaints about logistical shortcomings in national-level examinations. Ranka called for greater transparency in the examination system, including real‑time monitoring of technical facilities and a clear protocol for handling such disruptions in the future.
