A new flyover in Porvorim, Goa, is projected to divert about 60% of the traffic currently using the ground-level road, easing congestion in the town.

The government of Goa has announced a new flyover in the town of Porvorim that is expected to divert roughly 60 per cent of the traffic that currently uses the ground‑level road.

The elevated structure will run parallel to the existing road, allowing through‑traffic to bypass the congested junctions and reducing travel time for commuters.

Officials say the project will ease congestion in the town’s commercial area and improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists on the ground level.

Work on the flyover is underway and is expected to be completed by the end of the year, after which traffic authorities will monitor its impact on local mobility.
