Police Team Attacked During Liquor Mafia Raid in Banbira, Samastipur, Bihar

A product department squad led by Thana head Mukesh Kumar was assaulted while raiding liquor smugglers in Banbira village, Samastipur, leaving more than six officers injured.
A team from the Bihar State Excise (Product) Department entered Banbira village in Samastipur district to conduct a raid on suspected liquor smugglers. The operation was part of an ongoing effort to curb illegal alcohol trade in the region.
During the raid, the police unit was suddenly attacked by armed assailants. The confrontation turned violent, forcing the officers to defend themselves while attempting to secure the premises.
The assault left Thana head Mukesh Kumar and more than half a dozen other police personnel wounded. All the injured officers were promptly taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Local authorities have opened an investigation into the incident and are reviewing security protocols for future raids on illicit liquor networks.
