In a pre‑Diwali operation, police and revenue officials raided a storage in Bundegiya Ji, Maher, seizing fireworks worth ₹1,10,150.
Earlier this week, a joint operation by the Maher police and the revenue department targeted an illegal fireworks storage in the Bundegiya Ji neighbourhood. The raid uncovered a cache of firecrackers valued at ₹1,10,150, which were seized and handed over to authorities.
The officers reported that the storage had been used to stockpile unregistered firecrackers, a violation of the state’s fire safety and explosives regulations. By intercepting the goods before the Diwali celebrations, the authorities aimed to curb potential fire hazards and prevent illegal trade.
Officials said the crackdown is part of a broader campaign to enforce strict controls on fireworks, especially during the festive season when demand surges. The seized stock is slated for destruction under the guidelines of the Explosives Act.
Law enforcement agencies have urged the public to report any suspicious storage of fireworks. The Maher police will continue monitoring the area to ensure compliance with safety norms.
