Police nab Rajasthan High Court building fraud suspect in Haridwar, 50,000 reward claimed

A man accused of colluding in the irregularities of the new Rajasthan High Court building, along with construction firm owner Veerendra Garg, was arrested in Haridwar after a ₹50,000 bounty was offered.
Police officials in Haridwar announced the arrest of a suspect linked to alleged irregularities in the construction of the new Rajasthan High Court building. The individual, who was wanted under a ₹50,000 reward, was taken into custody along with Veerendra Garg, the proprietor of Veerendra Construction, the firm named in the probe.
The investigation, launched after reports of procedural lapses and financial discrepancies in the high‑court project, has so far resulted in eight arrests across different locations. Authorities said the recent detention brings the total number of suspects in the case to double digits.
Investigators allege that the accused colluded with contractors to manipulate tender processes and inflate costs, compromising the quality and timeline of the landmark building. The Rajasthan High Court’s new edifice, slated to house several benches, remains under close scrutiny as the probe continues.
