The Coconut Janata Party (CJP) announced a rally for October 10, prompting Delhi police to issue a security alert and prepare for possible disruptions.
The Coconut Janata Party (CJP) has scheduled a public demonstration for 10 October in Delhi, marking a fresh wave of political mobilisation ahead of upcoming elections.
Delhi police have responded by issuing a formal alert, citing the need to maintain law and order and to prevent any untoward incidents during the gathering. Senior officials confirmed that additional personnel and traffic control measures will be deployed in areas expected to see large crowds.
Authorities have urged citizens to avoid the protest routes and to cooperate with police instructions. While the party has not disclosed the exact itinerary, the police statement indicated that permits are being reviewed and that any violations could attract strict action.
The alert comes amid a broader political discourse, with various leaders, including senior opposition figures, commenting on the protest's potential impact, though no official statements have been released by the CJP itself regarding security arrangements.
