Sehore police, in coordination with the state food safety department, carried out a surprise raid at Shyampar village in the district. The operation targeted a commercial vehicle transporting a large consignment of ghee from Bhi nd to Bhopal. Inspectors seized 107 sacks containing roughly 42 quintals of the product, which officials described as suspect and potentially adulterated.
The seized material has been taken to the food safety laboratory for detailed analysis. Samples were collected on site and forwarded to the state lab to verify purity, composition and compliance with food standards. The authorities have not disclosed any immediate health risk but indicated that the investigation will continue based on lab results.
The raid underscores the ongoing efforts of Madhya Pradesh's food safety officials to curb the circulation of substandard dairy products. Officials said similar checks will be intensified on routes connecting major dairy markets to prevent the entry of adulterated goods into the consumer supply chain.
