Delhi police have alleged that about 2,900 individuals, described as criminals, assembled at Jantar Mantar during a recent protest, though no crimes have been reported.

Delhi police on Tuesday claimed that roughly 2,900 people, whom they identified as criminals, gathered at the historic Jantar Mantar site during a protest that began earlier this week. The police said the crowd was involved in disorderly conduct and posed a threat to public safety, but no incidents of theft or violence have been recorded to date.

The statement was released by the Delhi Police’s Public Relations wing, citing intelligence reports that identified the attendees as repeat offenders. Officials said the police had already started a verification process to confirm the identities of the alleged criminals.

The Delhi Police have urged the public to remain calm and assured that law‑enforcement agencies are monitoring the situation closely. The Delhi Municipal Corporation has also issued a notice to the protest organizers to ensure the event does not turn into a security risk.

At present, no arrests have been made and the protest continues under police supervision. Authorities have requested that any information regarding the alleged criminals be reported to the police for further action.
