Police have increased their presence in Connaught Place and announced traffic restrictions for today, officials said.
Police in Delhi have stepped up security measures in Connaught Place, the city’s central business district, ahead of anticipated traffic restrictions to be implemented today.
The deployment includes additional uniformed personnel, mobile police units and CCTV monitoring. Officials said the move is precautionary to manage large crowds and ensure smooth flow of vehicles during peak hours.
Motorists are advised to follow alternate routes and expect temporary lane closures around key intersections such as Janpath and Baba Kharak Singh Marg. The police have urged commuters to cooperate and avoid unnecessary delays.
The heightened security comes amid recent concerns over public safety in crowded commercial zones, though no specific threat has been disclosed.
