In a crackdown on illegal discharges into the Jojri River, Rajasthan police have detained six additional business owners, bringing the total number of arrested suspects to 17 out of 18 named in the case. The operation has also led to the shutdown of 306 factories.
The Jojri River, a tributary of the Chambal, has long been plagued by industrial pollution. Earlier this year, Rajasthan police arrested 11 entrepreneurs linked to illegal discharges, sparking a broader investigation.
Today, the police detained six more business owners, raising the count of arrested suspects to 17. The arrests were made after a series of raids on factories along the river’s banks.
