Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has advised the state government to resume talks with Odisha and Chhattisgarh on land acquisition for the Polavaram project. The move aims to address the long-pending issue of land acquisition for the project.
The Polavaram project has been a contentious issue among the states of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. The project involves the construction of a dam across the Godavari river, which is expected to provide irrigation and drinking water to several districts in Andhra Pradesh. However, the project has been stalled due to disputes over land acquisition and environmental concerns. Kiran Kumar Reddy's advice to the state government to resume talks with the neighboring states is seen as a positive step towards resolving the issue.
