Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today open Amrit Bharat railway stations and dedicate rail projects worth Rs 750 crore in Tamil Nadu.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate five railway stations in Tamil Nadu that are part of the central government's Amrit Bharat scheme. The ceremony, slated for today, will also see the dedication of rail infrastructure projects valued at Rs 750 crore, aimed at boosting connectivity across the state.

The Amrit Bharat initiative focuses on modernising stations, improving passenger amenities and enhancing safety standards. The newly inaugurated stations are expected to serve as regional hubs, facilitating smoother travel for commuters and supporting local economic activity.

Alongside the Prime Minister, senior officials from the Ministry of Railways and the Tamil Nadu state government will attend the event. The Rs 750 crore allocation will fund track upgrades, signalling systems and station upgrades under the broader rail development plan for the region.

The projects are part of a larger push to upgrade India's railway network ahead of upcoming national milestones, reflecting the government's commitment to infrastructure development in the southern states.
