PM Modi Inaugurates New Expressway, Slashing Delhi‑Amritsar Journey to 4 Hours

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a new expressway on Thursday, announcing that the route will cut the travel time between Delhi and Amritsar to four hours and Delhi to Katra to six hours. The expressway, which is expected to span several hundred kilometres, will provide a faster, more direct link between the national capital and key cities in the north. Modi highlighted the project’s potential to boost regional connectivity, ease freight movement and promote tourism in the Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir regions. The government has said that the new corridor will also help decongest existing highways and improve safety for commuters.
