The industrial town of Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh will be allocated ₹850 crore to develop an optical fibre infrastructure and set up battery storage facilities, according to Communications Today.
Communications Today reports that the Madhya Pradesh government has earmarked an investment of ₹850 crore for the development of high‑speed optical fibre connectivity and the establishment of battery storage plants in Pithampur, a key industrial hub.
The optical fibre rollout is intended to provide robust broadband services to manufacturers, small‑scale enterprises and residential users, aiming to boost digital adoption and improve operational efficiency across the region.
Simultaneously, the funding will support the construction of battery storage facilities designed to complement renewable energy projects and provide reliable backup power for factories that face frequent outages.
