A high‑speed pickup collided with an auto‑rickshaw near Fulbariya village in Muzaffarpur district, killing the auto driver Birendra Prasad and injuring four others.
Muzaffarpur district police reported that a pickup travelling at high speed struck an auto‑rickshaw from behind near Fulbariya village, located in the Rajepur police‑station jurisdiction of Bihar. The collision proved fatal for the auto driver, 45‑year‑old Birendra Prasad, a resident of Ward 9, Minapur Nagar Panchayat.
Four other occupants of the auto were rushed to a nearby hospital with injuries of varying severity. Local emergency services arrived promptly, and the injured were stabilized before being transferred for further treatment.
Authorities have opened an investigation into the cause of the accident, focusing on the speed of the pickup and compliance with traffic regulations. The police have also called for witnesses to come forward to aid the inquiry.
