The Indian postal department will launch philately passports for collectors in Tamil Nadu on October 19, making them available for purchase statewide.
The Indian postal service announced that philately passports will be put on sale across Tamil Nadu from October 19. These passports are designed for stamp enthusiasts and aim to encourage systematic collection of Indian postage stamps.
The launch is part of a broader effort to promote philately as a hobby and preserve the country's postal heritage. Collectors will be able to obtain a passport that records each stamp they acquire, creating a personal archive of their collection.
Official post offices throughout the state will stock the passports, and interested buyers can purchase them directly from these outlets. No additional details on pricing or special editions have been released yet.
The initiative follows similar programs in other regions that have helped boost interest in stamp collecting among both seasoned hobbyists and newcomers.
