Petrol and diesel prices in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru have risen following a jump in crude oil prices after Saudi Arabia shut a major pipeline.
Petrol and diesel rates across three major Indian metros – Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru – have been revised upwards today as the benchmark crude price climbed.
The increase follows Saudi Arabia’s decision to close a key oil pipeline, a move that tightened global supply and pushed crude oil futures higher.
Higher crude costs are being passed on to Indian fuel retailers, resulting in a noticeable jump in pump prices that commuters in the three cities will feel immediately.
Analysts note that while the current hike reflects the immediate impact of the Saudi shutdown, further fluctuations are possible depending on how quickly the supply disruption is resolved.
