Patwari Arrested in Muraina for 40,000 Rupee Bribe Demand

In Muraina, a local patwari was taken into custody by the district police after accusations of demanding a 40,000 rupee bribe from a farmer for land demarcation.
The district police in Muraina arrested patwari Pradeep Sharma on Thursday after a farmer reported that he was asked to pay 40,000 rupees for the demarcation of his land.
Sharma, who has served as the village accountant for several years, allegedly demanded the bribe to expedite the boundary survey and issue of a land record.
The arrest was made by the Deputy Superintendent of Police’s team following a complaint lodged by the farmer, who said the demand was made during a routine visit.
The case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and Sharma is being held in custody pending further investigation.
