Patna’s Khusropur Deyara neighbourhood was the scene of a major excise operation on Wednesday, when Bihar’s excise department seized a clandestine facility allegedly producing counterfeit alcoholic beverages. Officials entered the premises following intelligence inputs and carried out a systematic search.\n\nInvestigators recovered large quantities of illicit liquor, along with distillation equipment, bottling lines and raw materials such as industrial alcohol and flavoring agents. The seized stock is believed to be intended for distribution across the city and surrounding districts.\n\nDepartment officials said the raid is part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal liquor production that has been linked to several recent poisoning incidents in the state. Those apprehended are being interrogated, and legal proceedings under the Bihar Excise Act are expected to follow.
