Anti‑drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota, whose body was sent to PGI Chandigarh at midnight, will undergo a postmortem today.

Parvinder Singh Jhota, a well‑known anti‑drug activist from Mansa, was found dead earlier this week. The deceased’s body was transferred to the Post‑Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI) in Chandigarh around midnight, accompanied by a JAP for official documentation.

Authorities have scheduled a postmortem examination at PGI today to determine the cause of death and collect forensic evidence. The procedure is being overseen by senior medical officials, and the findings will be forwarded to the investigating police team.

The case has drawn attention from local anti‑narcotics groups, who have called for a swift and transparent investigation. Police have not yet released details about the circumstances leading to Jhota’s death, pending the autopsy results.

Further updates are expected once the postmortem report is completed and reviewed by the relevant law‑enforcement agencies.
