Members of the parliamentary standing committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture toured Bodh Gaya, visited the Mahabodhi Temple and examined the sacred Bodhi tree.

The parliamentary standing committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture arrived in Bodh Gaya for a study tour aimed at assessing the region's cultural assets.

Accompanied by state officials, the members visited the Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and observed its historic architecture and ongoing conservation measures.

The delegation also inspected the ancient Bodhi tree, under which Gautama Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment, noting its health and the management of the surrounding precincts.

Committee members remarked that the visit highlights the intertwining of Buddhist heritage with Bihar’s wider cultural fabric and will help shape future tourism and preservation initiatives.
