Pampore Opens Second Goods Shed, Boosting Kashmir Valley Logistics

The government of Jammu and Kashmir has inaugurated the second goods shed at Pampore, located in the Jammu Division. The facility follows the earlier establishment of a similar shed in Anantnag and is expected to streamline the storage and distribution of goods across the valley.

The new shed, situated on a strategic route that connects the western and eastern parts of the state, will provide a modern storage space for agricultural produce, textiles and other commodities. By reducing the need for long-distance transport, the shed is projected to cut logistics costs for local traders and farmers.

Officials at the opening ceremony highlighted the shed’s role in boosting the local economy. The facility will also help in managing supply chain disruptions caused by the region’s challenging terrain and seasonal weather conditions.

The project is part of a broader initiative to enhance infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to improve market access for producers and ensure timely delivery of goods to consumers across the valley.
